Design a Runbase store for Boston, collaborating with adidas, the Boston Athletic Association and Marathon Sports.
Following the brand’s ‘Raw’ design strategy for the first time, the Runbase provides runners with a meeting place to change clothes, shower, recharge, shop and explore many of the Boston Marathon’s historical museum pieces.
The wall merchandising system (Homecourt) was updated for the new brand strategy and tested before global rollouts could take place. The fabrication of all furniture, fixtures and equipment was closely managed to ensure full compliance with the design intent. The design of change rooms, showers and lockers was undertaken to complete the Runbase. The store opened in conjunction with the Boston Marathon, however flexibility of layout and merchandising arrangements was required to allow the store to remain current once the Marathon had finished.
