Design and recommend fabrication techniques for the W Hotel’s holiday tree, to be installed in all branches globally.

A concave mirrored disc design was selected and refined, thanks to its playful and iconic nature. Final drawings delivered included material and manufacturing techniques to be applied to ensure the accurate fulfilment of the design. A small series of table ornaments were also designed, using the same sized discs as the tree to help limit costs.

The tree needed to represent the holidays without referencing any particular holiday, due to the range of countries it was to be installed within. The concave disc design helped with shipping as each disc could nest inside another. Both a 9 foot and a 12 foot tree were designed, each with a unique and sculptural disc arrangement.
