Design a one of a kind inspiration piece for Lexus’ in-house auto designers.
The relationship between driver and passenger was used as inspiration to resolve a unique interface where the manipulation of RFID embedded stones led to different lighting and sound effects. A ‘gesture sensor’ was also incorporated to allow for the adjustment of light brightness and sound volume.
Each lighting effect was achieved by programming all LED color and intensity light by light and frame by frame. All sound effects were achieved through MP3 playback. Assembly of the final prototype was also undertaken. Featured in The New York Times, The Boston Globe and The Toronto Globe and Mail.
